Scholarships at Maynooth University

The €1,000 Entrance Scholarship is automatically awarded to incoming first year students, via the CAO, who have obtained 575 points or more in the Leaving Certificate (from six subjects in one sitting). For students presenting GCE A Levels the awards are based on achieving points from three/four subjects in GCE A levels.

Entrance Scholars have the option of residing on campus (normal charges apply). Entrance scholars who have not already booked their campus accommodation, will be offered campus accommodation during CAO Round 1 offers. Unfortunately, the University is not in a position to offer accommodation places in Round 2 or subsequently to Entrance Scholars, as they are fully booked in Round 1 annually.

Our Taught Master's Scholarships are now open for applications for 2023/24 (closing date - June 30th, 2023). 

Applications for these scholarships are made in conjunction with your application to your chosen postgraduate programme. 

• Maynooth University is offering Taught Masters scholarships in the amount of €2000 to students across all disciplines in recognition of academic excellence.

• All applicants must have achieved a minimum 2.1 honours undergraduate degree.

• Open to both EU and Non-EU applicants.

• Graduates or current students of PhD or Master’s programmes are not eligible to apply. Prospective students interested in research programmes should apply instead for the Maynooth University John and Pat Hume Doctoral Research Awards.

• A further €2000 scholarship will be awarded to applicants ordinarily resident in Ireland and registered with their Higher Education Institution Access Office and meet the eligibilty requirement.

One scholarship is available per faculty. The scholarship comprises a 2,000 Euro per year reduction in the undergraduate non-EU tuition fee. (Payment of fees after year one is contingent on successful progression to the next year of the programme. The scholarship does not cover tuition fees for repeat years).

We are offering a suite of 9 scholarships (3 per faculty) at 2,500 Euro reduction for the first year of a taught postgraduate programme only. The scholarship does not cover tuition fees for repeat years.

School of Business is offering six postgraduate level scholarships for September 2023 intake. They comprise a 2,000 Euro per year reduction in the non-EU tuition fee. The scholarship does not cover tuition fees for repeat years.
