The UK has become the first country in the world to approve the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
The vaccine has been authorised for emergency use by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Authority, with the first doses of the vaccine arriving in the coming days and the first immuniations expected before the Christmas holidays.
The news comes as UK universities continue to process applications for January 2021 entry and September 2021 entry, with record numbers of international students choosing to study in the UK at foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate level.
