Overview

West London College was founded in 1977, but traces its roots back to a correspondence education institution from the 1930's. Since 1997 it has occupied a building on Oxford Street with a separate building on nearby Manchester Street. The college is an Associate Campus of Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, and is licensed to offer a range of bachelor and masters degree programmes. As well as these, there are a number of diplomas and foundation courses in areas such as business, marketing and tourism. It currently has around 1,000 students enrolled.

Services for International Students

International students are offered continuous support by members of the Student Services team, including a pickup from Heathrow or Gatwick airport. Pre-sessional English language courses are available for up to a year before commencing study. Student Services also helps international students in finding employment, healthcare and other services.

Results and Destination

Because of its affiliation with Heriot-Watt University, degrees are awarded and accredited by that institution, with other qualifications accredited by the relevant bodies.

Accommodation

There are a number of hostels available within walking distance of the college available for all full-time students, in some of the most desirable areas of central London. Student Services can also help with finding alternative accommodation, such as homestays.

Location

The college is located in London, on Oxford Street just opposite the famous Selfridges department store. London is superlative in its size and variation: in addition to amazing history and culture, it also has excellent shops, the latest fashions, a vibrant music scene, and some of the best sports events in the world. The college’s central location means that important attractions like the National Gallery and Trafalgar Square are nearby, and transport to the rest of London, the UK or Europe is convenient.
