Services for International Students

Teesside University provides a meet and greet service for international students arriving from overseas and an orientation programme will also help new arrivals settle into the area. Talks and workshops with local and University authorities, as well as meetings with international student advisors, will help provide support throughout the year.

Pre-sessional and in-sessional English language courses are available for students who wish to raise their English level, as well as the more informal International English Language Cafe run by current students.

There is also accommodation available for postgraduate and mature students and Teesside has some of the most affordable university accommodation in the UK, including on-campus halls of residence and off-campus managed houses. Teesside University is in Middlesbrough, north Yorkshire. Multimillion pound investments in the town centre and campus have created an exciting environment that’s perfect for today’s students, and the recent expansion of nearby universities has led to an increase in student-friendly bars and restaurants. The town boasts numerous cultural attractions, including the Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art chief among them.

Durham Tees Valley Airport (20km away) and Newcastle International Airport (less than 80km away) have flight connections to London and Amsterdam, and as the gateway to two English regions, Northumbria and North Yorkshire, Middlesbrough is surrounded by breathtaking countryside and coastal scenery.

I sincerely thank SI-UK for getting me accepted to UCL. The MSc in Urban Development and Planning is extremely competitive, but the right guidance provided by SI-UK made my dream of studying at University College London a reality. The services were exceptional from beginning to end.
