Loughborough University is located in Leicestershire, 90 minutes north of London, and has been a university since 1966 with over 19,000 students currently enrolled from over 130 countries. Services for International Students

Loughborough University offers a free airport pickup service for international students, which runs at various times leading up to the start of the academic year. At the beginning of the term, the International Office runs an induction session for new international students to introduce them to university life and useful departments. Pre-sessional English courses lasting 6-11 weeks before the beginning of term are also available.

The 2021 REF results show an 11% increase in Loughborough’s share of the UK’s very best research since the REF was last undertaken in 2014, as the institution gained significant ground in comparison to others. The results particularly underline the wide-ranging positive impacts that Loughborough’s research has on the world. 


Loughborough University has 17 halls of residence – seven catered, seven self-catered and three that are run in partnership with a service provider – for students to live in during their stay.
