English in Chester was established in 1976 and is the only British Council accredited English language training centre in Chester. Our students are an important part of the community. We regard everyone as an individual and want them to feel that they are a vital part of the school from the moment they arrive in Chester.
English in Chester offers a wide range of English language courses. Some are for different age groups, for example, teenagers, young adults, or mature students. Other courses are for people with specific needs, for example, professional people, students going on to university study in the UK or who need to take an internationally recognised exam. There are courses for everyone from the age of 13 to 80+.
Many of our homestays have accommodated our students for years and their students are now personal friends. Students and hosts often continue to visit each other long after the course has finished.
Very different people host our students. We visit them regularly and know all of them personally. They live in different parts of the city and in different types of house. They all offer a very genuine and warm welcome to our students.
The heritage city of Chester is a wonderful location for an English language course for students of all ages. It is also an excellent base for exploring the vibrant cities and beautiful countryside nearby.
Chester is a marvellous city to live in and to study in. Our students always love Chester and feel comfortable and at home here. It is a very "English" city, incorporating everything that people think of as typically English, from black and white houses to beautiful parks and gardens. Chester is also a perfect combination of traditional and modern culture. This means that there is a lot for English in Chester students of all ages to see and do throughout the year.
I sincerely thank SI-UK for getting me accepted to UCL. The MSc in Urban Development and Planning is extremely competitive, but the right guidance provided by SI-UK made my dream of studying at University College London a reality. The services were exceptional from beginning to end.
