Writtle College, which specialises in animal and horticulture qualifications, will be able to award its own degrees from September 2017 after being awarded university status.
The College currently awards degrees validated by the University of Essex, but that will change from next year as students graduate with a degree from the College itself. In addition, it will also change its name to Writtle University College from August 2016.
Dr Stephen Waite, who has been Principal of Writtle since 2013, said: “This is a magnificent achievement and I am absolutely delighted with the outcome.”

I sincerely thank SI-UK for getting me accepted to UCL. The MSc in Urban Development and Planning is extremely competitive, but the right guidance provided by SI-UK made my dream of studying at University College London a reality. The services were exceptional from beginning to end.
