University of Stirling’s new programme- MSc in Human Rights and Diplomacy

The University of Stirling has announced a new programme in Human Rights and Diplomacy which is available for January 2020 entry. Stirling is a prominent UK university founded in 1967 and located in central Scotland. Around 14,000 students study there coming from more than 100 different countries.

The MSc Human Rights and Diplomacy programme is designed and taught in partnership with the leading training body of the United Nations: the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). It is the only such programme taught in partnership with UNITAR in the world. It also offers the chance to get an on-the-job placement within the United Nations system.

In this programme, students will get to learn the theory and practice of human rights laws and politics, the UN human rights institutions, their history and philosophical foundations. They will be taught by the top researchers in human rights and will gain experience by working with experienced UN personnel and will learn how to make a difference.

The programme also includes a visit to Geneva for all students to observe a live Human Rights Council in session. Additionally, in the last three months students will have the opportunity to apply to highly desirable internships, pursue projects with human rights organizations or will get to tackle a traditional dissertation.

The University is offering a special scholarship in the form of a 3x£5,000 fee waiver to full-time, self-funding international students.

The University is offering a special scholarship in the form of a 3 x £5,000 fee waiver to full-time, self-funding international students. Students who are applying from India may also be eligible for a £4,000 tuition fee waiver with the University’s PGT India Scholarship.

The deadline for the scholarship form submission is 20th November 2019.
