The University of York have been ranked 9th in the THE Europe Teaching Rankings 2018. Eight western & southern European countries are featured in this pilot 2018 table: UK, Spain, Germany, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Portugal and the Republic of Ireland. As a part of Times Higher Education’s series, the THE European Teaching Rankings focus on the institution’s teaching and learning environment for the students.
More than 240 European Universities have been ranked and half of universities’ overall scores are based on the results of the THE European Student Survey that is a student engagement survey of more than 30,000 university students.
THE Europe Teaching Rankings 2018 include questions on university’s strength on teaching supporting critical thinking, classes challenging students and teacher-student interaction opportunity. The ranking underpinned 13 individual performance metrics measuring the students’ outcomes, the diversity of institution’s environment and the resources to teach the students effectively.
