UK Universities to Cover Quarantine Costs for Indian Students
For Indian students who need to complete a period of quarantine in managed hotel accommodation when arriving in the UK, a number of UK universities have announced they will reimburse the 10-day quarantine and testing fees, up to the total value of £1,750.
Students from red-list countries such as India are required to follow strict quarantine regulations, including:
- A 10-day mandatory quarantine at a managed hotel costing around £1,750
- Covid test on Day 2 and Day 8 upon arrival which needs to be booked in advance and may cost between £170 to £575
Many UK universities are now offering quarantine funding support by way of tuition fee discounts, reimbursement, scholarships and hardship funds. Such financial assistance will help international students from red-list countries to cover any additional costs incurred by travelling to the UK from May 17th onwards.

- University of Manchester
- Royal Holloway University of London (quarantine hotel cost up to £1,500)
- Lancaster University (half of the quarantine hotel cost currently up to £875)
