The top 10 least expensive UK student cities has been revealed following the publication of the Natwest Student Living Index 2022 report.
Cardiff, which is home to Cardiff University and Cardiff Metropolitan University, saw students spend below the national average on rent, and also benefit from higher-than-average term-time incomes.
The NatWest Student Living Index surveyed almost 3,000 university students in the UK on their finances, and looked at how much students spent after their incomes had been taken into account.
Laura Behan, Head of NatWest Student Accounts, said: "Despite the cost of living increasing dramatically, we’ve not seen that hit students quite as hard as may have been expected this year.
“Rents were set well in advance of the academic year and inflation increased much later into the academic year. However, with the cost of living increasing, especially as we look towards the start of the new university year in September, it is vital that students properly manage their finances."

I sincerely thank SI-UK for getting me accepted to UCL. The MSc in Urban Development and Planning is extremely competitive, but the right guidance provided by SI-UK made my dream of studying at University College London a reality. The services were exceptional from beginning to end.
