University of Sussex, World No.1 for Development Studies: QS Subject Rankings 2021

University of Sussex in the UK has been ranked 1st in the world for Development Studies in the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject 2021. The University was ranked as the best in the world for the fifth year running and has been placed at the top six times in the past seven years. 

Rankings are based on the assessment of quality, impact and range of the courses offered and the impact of international development research. Sussex has over 25 Masters development courses which the University offers through the Institute of Development Studies and four other schools including School of Global Studies, the University of Sussex Business School, Sussex Sustainability Research Programme (SSRP), School of Media, Arts and Humanities, Centre for International Education (CIE).

Prof Melissa Leach, Director of the Institute of Development Studies, said, “The Institute of Development Studies is at the forefront of research, learning and teaching for development studies globally.
