Figures released by UCAS have revealed a 3% rise in EU applications (excluding the UK) and an 11% rise in non-EU applications for September 2018 entry.
While overall applications were down 1% due to a drop in UK applicants, the total number of EU and international applications combined broke the 100,000 mark for the first time.
UCAS chief executive Clare Marchant said: ‘Today’s figures show that UK higher education continues to be a highly popular choice for 18-year-olds, and draws students of all ages from around the world to the UK.”
