Loughborough has been ranked 7th out of 131 UK universities in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018 – its highest ever position.
Loughborough is now in the top 10 of every national university league table as well as top in the region. Apart from achieving 7th place in the guide, Loughborough was also runner up for the main University of the Year award.
Loughborough, one of the UK’s leading universities, with more than 17,000 students and staff from over 100 different countries has an international reputation for excellence in teaching and research, strong links with industry, and an unparalleled reputation for sport. The University has the largest single-site green campus in the UK and is situated in the county of Leicestershire.
Universities are ranked on nine indicators – teaching quality, student satisfaction, research quality, graduate prospects, entrance qualifications held by new students, degree results achieved, student/staff ratios, service and facilities spend, and degree completion rates.
In the guide’s subject tables, Loughborough is ranked top for building, communication and media studies, and librarianship and information management.
Loughborough tops three of its subject tables and has an excellent reputation in fields as diverse as art and design, and engineering. It is also paramount on the sports fields of UK universities and brilliant for sport science.
