Huge number of international students secure place on UK university courses following Clearing

5 September 2022

Over 25,000 international students have secured a place on a UK university course via the use of UCAS Clearing.

In total, 25,840 international students aged 18 found a place on a course in the UK, up on the equivalent figure last year of 24,260. Over 273,000 UK-based 18-year-olds have also been accepted on a higher education course in the UK as of Thursday 1st September, showing that UK higher education is booming.

Clare Marchant, UCAS chief executive, said: “Two weeks on from exam results day, we see a record number of 18-year-olds from the UK on their way to university and college this autumn.

“UCAS continues to support students to understand all of their options, ranging from undergraduate courses to apprenticeships."
