Five UK Universities in the THE Top 100 Young Universities 2020
The Times Higher Education recently announced the THE Young Universities Rankings 2020 listing the best universities in the world that are 50 years old or younger. Five universities in the UK have been placed amongst the top 100 Young Universities this year. These include:
- Brighton and Sussex Medical School (Ranked 44th)
- Northumbria University (Ranked 80th)
- Middlesex University (Ranked 90th)
- Bournemouth University (Ranked 95th)
- Liverpool John Moores University ( Ranked 99th)
THE Young University Rankings are based on thirteen performance indicators such as teaching, research, knowledge transfer, international outlook and reputation with different weightage given to each factor to provide a comprehensive and balanced comparison.
The UK is the most represented country with 36 UK institutions featuring in the list of THE Young Universities 2020 which included more than 400 universities from 66 territories worldwide. Other leading UK universities qualifying as best universities under 50 years old include University of Plymouth, University of Portsmouth, University of the West of Scotland, De Montfort University and Glasgow Caledonian University.
