The University of Essex has been ranked 22nd in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018 and is one of five universities shortlisted for the Guide’s prestigious title University of the Year.
The University of Essex is a public research university in Colchester, England spread over three campuses in Colchester, SouthEnd and Loughton.
Essex was recently rated Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework 2017 and is in the top 20 for research excellence in the last Research Excellence Framework in 2014.

There is a high percentage of international students, all coming from around 140 countries to study at the university and For the past five years Essex has also been in the top 15 in England for student satisfaction (NSS 2017).
The University offers the courses available organised into three faculties: humanities, science and health and social science.
