De Montfort University has opened a new £1million home for societies and sports teams as part of its ongoing £136million campus redevelopment plan.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dominic Shellard, together with the help of several students, cut the ribbon to launch The Watershed which will be the new home of meeting rooms, office space, a common room area, the sports hall and a designated training space for the DMU rowing club.
The building, which backs onto the River Soar, just off Upperton Road, will be able to cater for activities such as five-a-side football, badminton, netball, basketball, indoor hockey, indoor cricket and volleyball, as well as host meetings and activities for DMU’s 100-plus societies. Sports teams and societies will have the opportunity to influence the development of the second floor space, and the plans are currently being developed.

I sincerely thank SI-UK for getting me accepted to UCL. The MSc in Urban Development and Planning is extremely competitive, but the right guidance provided by SI-UK made my dream of studying at University College London a reality. The services were exceptional from beginning to end.
