The University of Cambridge retained its spot at the top of the Complete University Guide Rankings for 2016, narrowly beating out Oxbridge rival University of Oxford. London School of Economics, Imperial College London and University of Durham rounded off the top five.
The rankings take into consideration entry standards, student satisfaction, research quality and graduate prospects, granting an overall score to 126 UK institutions.
Over in the subject ranking list, Cambridge claimed first place in 36 of the 44 degrees and is in the top ten for all of them. The University of East Anglia appeared in 33 subject tables and ranked nationally for eight, complementing its top 20 overall position. UEA vice-chancellor Professor David Richardson said: “Our consistent appearances in the top tiers of league tables reinforces our position as a leading university.”
