Programmes
Undergraduate Foundation Programme (UFP)
  • 1 year (3 or 4 terms)
  • This programme gives guaranteed progression* to Year 1 of a wide range of undergraduate degrees.
  • Pathways available in Business, Economics, Finance and Management, Engineering and Physical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Life Sciences and Medicine.
  • This programme is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to undergraduate studies at Aston University. All students who successfully complete the UFP are guaranteed progression* on a suitable programme of undergraduate study at Aston University. The UFP is set at level 3, which is equivalent to A-level standard in the UK.
International Year One (IY1)
  • 1 year (3 or 4 terms)
  • This programme is designed for international students who do not quite have the academic grades and/or English level to start the first year of an undergraduate degree at Aston University, but have a stronger profile than an UFP student. If you successfully complete the IY1 you are guaranteed progression* to Year 2 of an undergraduate degree at Aston University.
  • Pathways available in Computer Science, Law, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Marketing, International Business and Management, Human Resource & Business Management, Accounting & Finance and Business & Management
Master’s Foundation Programme (MFP)
  • 1 year (1, 2, 3 and 4 terms)
  • *Guaranteed progression is subject to meeting the specified entry criteria
  • This programme is designed to prepare international students for postgraduate study in the UK. The MFP will allow you to improve your English while learning the study skills and research methods that you will need during your master’s degree studies.
