The University of West London is based in Ealing and Brentford, West London, and after merging with several other local colleges, it was awarded full university status in 1992. When changing its name to The University of West London in 2011, it was awarded the most improved modern university for student satisfaction in 2011's National Student Survey. It currently hosts 12,000 students from over 100 different countries.

The University of West London was recently ranked the number one modern university in London and awarded the Queen’s Prize for contributions to hospitality. It is also particularly well known for producing musicians and music producers with artists such as Freddie Mercury and Pete Townshend amongst its alumni.
