University of Essex is famous for Social Sciences, Politics, Economics. University of Essex is one of the few universities in the UK to be awarded the International Accommodation Quality Mark, with 90% satisfaction amongst international students living on University of Essex based accommodation. It has also performed well in the National Student Survey, scoring impressively in organisation and management (87%), assessment and feedback (77%) learning resources (83%) and personal development (84%), academic support (83%) and teaching (89%).

The main University of Essex campus incorporates teaching buildings, student accommodation, shops, banks, an art gallery, the Lakeside Theatre, bars, cafés and sports facilities. The campus is set in extensive landscaped parkland and has excellent transport links to London Stansted and Southend airport.

Ranking

The University of Essex performed well in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, with research in economics, art history, sociology, sports science, philosophy and law rated all ranking in the top 20.
