SOAS's founding mission was primarily to train British administrators for overseas postings across the empire. Now, it counts numerous heads of state, government ministers, Supreme Court judges and a Nobel Prize laureate amongst its alumni. Over 40 per cent of courses allow a year abroad in one of SOAS’s numerous partner universities across Africa and Asia, and around 45 per cent of undergraduates take lessons in a second language. The world-famous library is one of five National Research Libraries in the UK, with 1.5 million books, journals and study materials in 400 different languages.

It is the only higher education institution in Europe specialising in the study of Africa, Asia and the Middle East. The School also has the largest concentration of specialist faculty concerned with the study of Africa, Asia and the Middle East at any university in the world.Students can choose from more than 350 undergraduate degree combinations and from almost 200 postgraduate programmes (taught and distance learning) in the social sciences, humanities and languages with a distinctive regional focus and global relevance, taught by world-renowned teachers in specialist faculties.

I had a very great experience right from the start to finish; All the staff were really great and very helpful. I recommend SI-UK for all students who are planning to study in the UK.
