Nottingham Trent University

Nottingham Trent University is in the East Midlands of England, 200km north of London. It is spread across three campuses, with two in Nottingham and one 22km outside the city. Its origins date back to 1843 and it was founded as Trent Polytechnic (later Nottingham Polytechnic) in 1970 before gaining university status in 1992. It is one of the largest universities in the United Kingdom, serving more than 24,000 students, of which 5 per cent are international.

Nottingham Trent University is best known for Art and Design, Fashion and the creative arts, but it also hosts one of the UK’s largest law schools. Nottingham Trent recently received one of the biggest grants to a post-1992 university in order to continue its work on cancer diagnosis and therapy. The university also does well in sports, with strong performances in the British University and College Sport leagues and a large sports centre on the Clifton campus.
