Northumbria University is the largest university in the north-east of England with 33,000 students currently enrolled, 3,500 of which are international. The main campus is in the centre of Newcastle and Northumbria is in the top ten in the UK for graduates entering professional employment and 21st in the 2014 Times Higher Education Student Satisfaction table. The university is famous for Design, Physics, Nursing Science.

Northumbria University is well known for its School of Design, which was formed from one of the original colleges that made up Newcastle Polytechnic, while courses in Architecture, Engineering and Midwifery also perform well nationally. The University is also one of the best in the UK for sport, and consistently ranks in the top 20 of the British Universities and Colleges.
