The workshop is structured in two parts. In the first part, Maria will introduce Design Informatics at Edinburgh and the four Masters programmes we offer. In the second part, Maria will facilitate a rapid design session, where you get a taste of Design Informatics by ideating and sketch a prototype based on data from your home town.
Dr Maria Wolters is a Reader (associate professor) in Design Informatics at the University of Edinburgh and the Programme Director of the MSc in Design Informatics and the MSc in Advanced Design Informatics. She has published over 75 peer reviewed papers in Human-Computer Interaction, eHealth, and Computational Linguistics. She is an Associate Chair of the 2019 ACM SIGCHI conference on human-computer interaction, and on the Programme Committee of the ACM SIGASSETS conference on accessible technology.
Harish Lokhun, Regional Manager for South Asia will also be available to provide an insight into the general admissions/recruitment process and to life in Edinburgh itself.
