Cardiff Metropolitan University is spread across three campuses in Wales capital city, with around 12,000 students from 140 different countries currently enrolled. It was originally founded as the Cardiff School of Art & Design in 1865, and became an independent university from the University of Wales in 2011. The University is well known for art & design, which performed very well in the most recent Research Excellence Framework.
Cardiff Metropolitan constantly performs well in the UK Student Satisfaction survey, and in the past has been rated top in the UK for student experience, student support and living experience. Cardiff Metropolitan University has been ranked as the top new university in Wales several times in recent years.
