Overview

According to a survey conducted in Summer 2007 by the Graduate Insight Group, i-graduate, over 80 per cent of our international students would recommend the University of Exeter, the highest rate amongst students at the prestigious 94 Group of Universities.

The University of Exeter warmly welcomes international students and ensures that you have all the support you need, both before you arrive and whilst you are studying with us, to help you make the most of your time in the UK. At present around 2,000 students from over 100 countries outside the UK contribute to a thriving international community across our three campuses.

The University of Exeter is surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside and coastline in the UK. Our campuses are compact and convenient – the teaching buildings, libraries, student accommodation and the social buildings are all close together so it is easy to find your way around. The Streatham and St Luke’s campuses are conveniently located a 15-minute walk or five-minute bus ride from the historic student-friendly city of Exeter, whilst students studying at our Cornwall Campus will find it equally easy to reach the scenic town of Falmouth. The Cornwall Campus is situated in beautiful countryside on the outskirts of Penryn, near Falmouth and has a vibrant and friendly student community where you constantly meet people you know. The Cornwall Campus is approximately two and a half hours by train from Exeter and just over four hours by train from London.

Services for International Students

We want you to remember your time here at the University of Exeter as rewarding, exciting and fun and don’t expect you to have any serious problems. However, some students may feel unsettled in adapting to their new home, new friends and new ways of learning, so we have a network of experienced people on hand to help.

You will have a personal tutor, who is a member of academic staff in your School, with whom you can discuss any problems or general academic progress. They will be able to advise you or let you know who else in the University of Exeter may be the best person to help with your specific circumstances. Your School will also let you know who can provide appropriate academic advice relating to specific programmes of study and modules.

Further specialist advice is available from staff in the Student Advice Unit, the Student Counselling Service, the Student Learning Skills Service, the Disability Resource Centre, the Accommodation Office, the International Office, the Wardens and the Chaplaincy.
